BC Hydro confirms outage caused by wind storm in Clearwater

Residents are reporting their service has been restored, but the cause is not yet known.

UPDATE:

BC Hydro has confirmed that the power outage that affected 149 households is fixed and was caused by a fallen tree due to heavy winds.

EARLIER:

Residents in Clearwater are reporting they once again have power in their homes.

The BC Hydro outage page shows about 20 customers still without power.

The Times has put in a call to BC Hydro for a cause to the outage.

Clearwater residents are without power, just a few weeks after a blackout stretched across the North Thompson Valley.

The power outage effects 149 customers (or households) in the Clearwater area, a BC Hydro spokesperson confirmed.

While there are no details about the cause or how quickly the power will be turned on, the company’s outage website notes the estimated time of re-establishing service is 10:30 p.m.

Crews have been assigned to investigate.
