The Clearwater Volunteer Fire Department held its annual Awards Night on Friday, May 31 to honour members for their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

The department wants to congratulate Mike Chambers for 35 years of service and receiving the British Columbia Fire Service bar from our chief, Mike Smith. Chief Smith was also named Officer of the Year.

Congratulations to Lee Thorpe for being named Firefighter of the Year and Association Member of the Year for his tireless efforts and commitment to the department.

Best wishes to outgoing member, Scott Schulte on his retirement after five years of service.

A huge thank you to all our firefighters and families for making our department possible.

“On behalf of everyone in the community, I want to express a heartfelt thank you to our firefighters and families for shaping our department’s success,” said Chief Smith.
