After temporarily closing their doors and suspending non-essential dental treatment in mid-March to help curb community spread of COVID-19, Dr. Sarika Kishore and her team at the Clearwater Dental Clinic have reopened and done everything possible to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the patients in their care.
They use universal precautions in the clinic such as sterilization of tools and equipment and wearing gloves and masks, as well as new safety precautions now in place due to COVID-19.
From a dental standpoint, every time a dental procedure is performed it creates millions of aerosols. Because the COVID-19 pandemic is still active, the Clearwater Dental Clinic has added two new types of equipment to their office.
The first, a MedEVAC Chairside Aerosol Vaccum, provides direct capture from the source and is equipped with a three-stage filtration system. The second is a powerful air purifier, which has been proven to capture and purify the air for particles as small as the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
These air purifiers are manufactured by a Canadian company and are used by many hospitals all across North America during surgeries to capture aerosols. Both of these machines have been placed in all three operatories, and an additional air purifier has been placed in the reception area.
Dr. Kishore and her team want their patients to feel assured that their health and her staff’s health is of the utmost concern. The team at Clearwater Dental clinic appreciate the patience and support of the Clearwater community and are now equipped and ready to serve.
They have completed contacting everyone on their emergency list and will be reaching out to all the patients whose treatment plan was left incomplete by COVID-19.
