Website for Arts Council

The North Thompson Arts Council website is now up. It needs a little tweaking mind you

The North Thompson Arts Council website is now up. It needs a little tweaking mind you, but is it viewable and already has some good information on it. Go to norththompsonartscouncil.com to check it out.  Please email us with your suggestions on how to improve the site. Members - please get your bio's in to our president Sylvia Chivers, so we can update your page on the site. Be sure to include the link to your own website if you have one.

Remember to book your spot in the upcoming workshops: Cake Decorating on April 28 and Card Making on May 19. (Call the Volunteer Centre to book - 250-672-0033.)

We are still looking for a volunteer to take over the secretary position. Members are currently taking turns to take the minutes at each meeting. This is not a huge job people - surely someone has the time to take this on. Basically, you'd be taking notes at the meetings, typing them up and either printing them off for the next meeting or emailing them.

Sign up forms for the Celebration of the Arts Festival have just been mailed out to everyone on our mailing list.  If you haven't received yours yet, you should shortly - or go to the website as there is a copy of the form there.

During the month of May, a variety of businesses around Barriere will showcase artwork from NTAC members as a teaser for the upcoming Celebration of the Arts. This is still being arranged, so the exact locations are not fully determined. Members wishing to have some of their artwork included in these displays are asked to please contact the Council as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made.

This year's annual general meeting will be on Sept. 18, starting at noon at the Little Fort Hall. This will be a potluck meeting, so please bring something to share. We've chosen Little Fort for the location, in hopes of encouraging our Clearwater members to come out and join us.

Our next regular meeting will be on May 9, at 7 p.m. at the Volunteer Centre in Barriere. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. We look forward to seeing you there.
