Mountain magic Shadow Lake is located in Wells Gray Park next to the road from Helmcken Falls to Clearwater Lake. The mountain in the distance is Garnet Peak, which at 2,876 m, was, until a few years ago, believed to be the highest mountain in the park (an indication of how much of Wells Gray Park is still not well explored). Shadow Lake is a good place for canoeing and much of it is not visible from the road. Photo by Keith McNeill
