Wishful thinking

To the Editor,

When you wish upon a star, but realize you’re still in the bar, just be thankful that you’re not in your car and nobody has been hurt so far.

If you are high on spirits or stoned on drugs, stay where you are, away from your car. The life you save may be your own. It’s best for all if you stay in a safe zone.

Yes, nothing is more dear than to drink a beer, sip a wee dram of scotch, but don’t you dare get into that car or the cops will take you down a notch. Then bar becomes bars and behind them you’ll be for a sad end to your par-tee.

So folks, if you’re tempted to drive drunk or stoned, put your keys where you’ll never find them impaired, yes safer you’ll be along with you and me and a whole lot less scared we’ll be.
