Re: Completed 2024 Harvesting at Candle Creek Trails

The Well Gray Outdoors Club would like to pass on a thank you and recognition of the efforts in harvesting completed at Candle Creek this past winter. We were really impressed with the excellent job of harvesting with minimal impact and greatly appreciate the extra work put in by the Wells Gray Community Forest (WGCF) and the contractor to this end.

• Minimal disturbance to trail tread with only three machine crossings.

• Retention of key ‘anchor’ trees which define the trail.

We encourage WGCF board members to come visit the trails and see the results. Included are some photos taken shortly after harvesting. Continued support and collaboration from the WGCF has been key in the development of the Candle Creek trail network. Please do keep the WGOC informed and updated at the planning stages of any future forest management activities at Candle Creek.

Thank you on behalf of the WGOC Board and all mountain bikers and hikers who enjoy the trails.

On behalf of the WGOC Board of Directors

President, Darren Coates
