Editor, The Times:

Due to circumstances beyond our control National Aboriginal Day in Clearwater will be cancelled this year. After many years of local celebrations it is truly unfortunate that we have to cancel this free family event.

Aboriginal Engagement Success By 6 will be organizing to take our families to the Aboriginal day event in Kamloops BC on Thursday June 21st to participate in the event there at a fun filled day at Riverside Park.

Please get a hold of me if you would like more information. This is a free family event. There will be car pooling and/or subsidies, plus I will have a picnic lunch provided for you.

For more information and to register you can phone DLCC at 250-674-3530 ext. 105 on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., or to leave a message, email to cindy.wilgosh@yellowheadcs.ca or private message me on Facebook.

Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society is hosting this Aboriginal Day on June 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Riverside Park.

We hope you come out to the park to celebrate. There will be some stage acts, then some open mic time. As well, there will be Indigenous booths set up sharing info and activities.

Looking forward to spending National Aboriginal Day with you and your children.

Yours in Community Spirit,

Cindy Wilgosh
