The Canadian conservative party is poised for a sharp right turn.
Will this alienate moderate conservatives? This is an attempt to tap into the extreme right-wing wave that seems to be on the rise world wide. In the past, similar shifts have lead to fascism and Nazism in Italy and Germany, respectively.
This shift is a real threat to democracy, although it may be the apathy from within failure to exercise the franchise, failure to get informed and may cause the internal rot of democracy.
