To the editor,

The toxic sludge of Trumpism is reflected in a leaked statement from his stacked U.S. Supreme Court. Roe v Wade is in jeopardy of being overturned by this same court. So what’s next, the revoking of a women’s right to vote, women, in law, not considered persons but merely chattels to men?

Wow, the Taliban is alive and well in America.

In case we in Canada become complacent, look at the Conservative leadership race. The front runner at the moment is a man who’s values closely align with the conservatives of the U.S. Supreme Court. The current pro-choice stance of the Canadian government could be on the chopping block if a Pierre Poilievre-led Conservative Party should win the next federal election.

A Crown corporation like the CBC, the present civil service, would be privatized and sold off to the highest bidder. We all, and especially women, need to wake up and smell the coffee, before it is too late.

Wes Morden,

Blackpool, B.C.
