No, Jim! I didn’t get that bit about “needing an assault rifle and thousands of rounds to shoot a duck” from my “comrade” — whatever his or her politics were or are!
Or from Trudeau!
I got it from one Charles Adler, a syndicated talk show who’s right-wing outlook is closer to that of Jim Lamberton than myself.
However, in comparison to those utterly unspeakable “alt-rights” south of the border (yee Gods!!): Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Sebastian Yorba and all those wastes of oxygen who dominate the Ameican airwaves and earn millions with their rantings and ravings!
Really, Jim, you ought to get out more often!
Jim Lamberton has twisted himself into a fine Gentian knot over this whole gun issue. At first, it was some “reds under the beds” responsible for all this gun ban thing —oh those commies responsible for it all!
Then, somehow, it was John Horgan and his resistance to the Trans Mountain twinning that if one cares to notice is almost non-existent these days!? Well, let’s face it, the pipeline at present makes no economic sense whatsoever! At $39 a barrel as of yesterday, that’s for “Texas Sweet,” we couldn’t even find a price for “Alberta Tar?!”
But, his project gives jobs, temporary jobs to be sure, but much-needed work. Remember that when you pass that silent mill in Vavenby!
As to the lethal properties of various weapons — well, with the exception of some cannons found on the wrecks of the Spanish Armada that were said to be of such poor quality that they were far more danger to those firing them than to anyone they were pointed at — any weapon, even the lovely .23, is lethal.
I know! I shot all of them off at one time even making bill shots at 300 to 400 yards with a high-powered rifle! However, with a shotgun, it’s close range one has to pay attention to.
The last thing a law officer wants to face is some maniac armed with an AK-47 or M-16 wth a thirty-shot clip intent on human destruction and waste. This is why police organizations favour a ban on these man-killers.
Anyway, Jim, stop hiding behind your computer. Get out and enjoy life. It’s later than you think!!
