Balance is necessary

Editor, The Times:

Is it just my imagination or has our local newspaper taken a distinct right turn.

Being on the political left myself, I may be over sensitive to this change.

To wit, the following articles; (BC must rein in public sector wages and benefits by the kings of privatization the Fraser Institute. Were not wages and benefits under seige in B.C. for the last 16 years of con-Liberal government? The article by Jim, The Rambling Man, who outright rejects the opinion of tourists on the ambience of the Dutch Lake property now for sale.

The second article by Angela MacLeod from the Fraser Institute, falsely degrading public education in favour of the so called elite and non-elite private options.

Didn’t we just go through a 16 year period where the con liberals did their best to starve the public system and divest ever increase amounts of public tax dollars into the private system.

My word “enough is enough” already!

I must say that this issue was not totally without balance, to wit; the support for striking casino workers in Kamloops, the article on pension investments being directed to the past (oil & gas) rather than future alternate energy and the article on the inordinately large number of indigenous Canadians being jailed, exposing the racist elements in our justice system.

I suppose what I’m saying is that in the future the Times paper and its new editor, Mr. Palmateer, should strive to balance the approach more effectively.
