UPDATE: The evacuation order for the Moose Valley wildfire that affects the Tad Lake, Mirage Lake, McKinlay Lake and Big Lake areas has been downgraded to an evacuation alert. Meanwhile evacuation alert for the wildfire in areas such as Enterprise Lake, Hale Lake and the south point of Lac La Hache has been lifted, according to press releases sent out by the Cariboo Regional District.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Twin Creek wildfire is now being listed as "being held" as part of the 14 wildfires burning in the South Cariboo as of July 26, according to BC Wildfire Service.
Around five of these wildfires are listed as out of control, including the Moose Valley wildfire, with two wildfires including Twin Creek are listed as being held and with the remaining seven being listed as under control.
The Twin Creek wildfire is around 285 hectares in size and is located southwest of Sodium Lake. The wildfire is currently being fought with local contract wildland firefighters and BCWS personnel with helicopters and air tankers responding to the wildfire. No evacuation orders or alerts have been issued regarding the fire.
The Moose Valley wildfire, which remains at around 240 hectares in size, is still visible from the 100 Mile House area. An evacuation order remains in effect for the 8,306 hectare area surrounding the wildfire, including Big Lake, Tad Lake, Mirage Lake, McKinlay Lake and the western part of Abel Lake and the southwestern part of Lily Pad Lake. The evacuation alert also remains in effect.
The wildfire is currently exhibiting rank one fire behaviour, according to BC Wildfire Service - with firefighters continuing to remain on the scene.
Other out-of-control wildfires that are burning right now include C41350, a 70-hectare-sized wildfire located 4.2km northwest of Pendleton Lakes, C41452, a 40-hectare wildfire burning 5.1 km north of Bonaparte Lake, and C41510, a 150-hectare wildfire burning 8.2km southeast of HiHium Lake.
