Representatives from Canfor-Vavenby congratulate Narinder Heer (holding plaque) on his retirement after more than 47 years of employment with the company and its predecessors.

For the past 38 year he has been operating the head rig – the primary saw in the sawmill.

“I had a tear in my eye as I was leaving the parking lot that night,” he said. “I told myself I shouldn’t look back; just look ahead.”
