The 100 Mile House RCMP responded to three reports of theft as part of 135 calls to service they received between June 25 and July 2, according to Sgt. Brian Lamb.

The first incident regarding theft occurred on June 9 and was reported to the RCMP on June 26, by a business located on Highway 97. Sgt. Brian Lamb said that officers suspect three males entered the business where one of the males "distracted the employee which led to several pieces of electronics being taken by the other two males." RCMP say they will be reviewing surveillance to identify the suspects.

The second incident regarding theft is believed to have occurred on June 29  when the RCMP received a report of theft from a business located on Alder Avenue. The RCMP said that it was reported that "two males had left the store with unpaid food items" and left in a white pickup truck. The RCMP have obtained a licence plate from the vehicle and are continuing the investigation.

On June 30 - where Lamb said the RCMP received a report of theft from a business on the 3000 block on Highway 97. The RCMP stated that it was reported that two male youths had "entered the store where each stole alcohol and departed in a vehicle." Lamb said they will be reviewing surveillance footage to identify suspects.

Two incidents related to impaired driving also occurred last week. On June 27, the RCMP received a report of a "possible impaired driver on Highway 97 near Lac La Hache." After locating the vehicle and driver, the RCMP issued a breath demand, to which the driver had complied and subsequently failed.

The RCMP issued an immediate roadside prohibition from driving for 90 days as well as impounded the vehicle for 30 days.

The other incident related to impaired driving occurred on Canada Day, when Lamb said they received an "iPhone crash notification" on the 6000 block of Highway 97. Officers responded and located the vehicle "in the ditch with a lone occupant and suspected driver" and Lamb said the driver "displayed signs of alcohol consumption." The RCMP subsequently issued a breath demand, to which the driver refused to comply. The RCMP then issued the driver an immediate roadside prohibition for 90 days and impounded the vehicle for 30 days.

Finally, the RCMP responded to two other incidents involving criminal mischief.

The first incident was reported to the RCMP on June 26 and involved damage to a building located near the 200 block of Birch Avenue. The RCMP attended and found a broken window, and Lamb noted that "it is possible the building was entered." The RCMP do not know when the incident occurred.

On June 29,  RCMP responded to another report of mischief to a building located on the 90 block of Highway 97. Lamb said on arrival officers found "graffiti to an outside wall of a business at this location which was likely made by a felt pen" and stated that two males with tattoos on their face, with a slim build, being approximately 18 to 19 years old were observed in the area when the incident is said to have taken place.

The RCMP ask anyone with information about those incidents to call them at 250-395-2456 or anonymously 24 hours a day at Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at bccrimestoppers.com
