Wells Gray Writers’ Circle bravely, nervously, produced its first Collected Works in 2012. This locally made, slim volume and its 2013 successor were held together with a coil binding, all pictures black and white.

For the 2014 volume, aided by a grant from the Wells Gray Community Forest (WGCF), we sought a “real” printing company and added colour photos and art work, but missed adding a few common traditions. ISBN number, properly organized recognitions, along with a picture on the back cover were all added to 2015 Collected Works.

Proudly, we now present Collected Works #5 for 2016 with stories, poems, artwork and more, all by local writers and artists. It is a work of love, toil and enjoyment done with the help and support of our families, the Wells Gray Country Seniors Society, and our community. Sale of these books will pay for the printing of the next edition, as we continue to “recycle” that 2014 grant from WGCF.

Compiling our creations into a completed book takes a major commitment of time and energy and once again we thank those who did just that: 2012, Irene Gouchie; 2013 and 2014, Evelyn Warner; and 2015 and 2016, Lynne Frizzle.

This book is also dedicated to the late Fran McRae by including some of her art work and writings. Fran was a member of the Wells Gray Writers’ Circle from the start and we miss her.

To jazz up our meetings, challenges are often tossed out. In response to these, the book contains samples of writing containing plenty of dialogue, monologues, and musings about a given topic. It’s all part of the fun of writing – and sharing.
