I recently saw a story idea in a book about the month of June.

It discussed a variety of reasons for people to feel that it is their favorite month of the year. Some of the reasons included things like weddings, graduations and spring flowers.

It got me thinking. Hmmmmm. What does the month mean to you?

Does it mean that this is the month that all of the ticks come out and you have to beware? Does it mean that this is the month of the worst mosquitoes? Does this month, being after all of the May sunshine that we usually get, mean that we get some cooler weather and you can enjoy the spring but not the heat?

Is this the month that you finally get out walking and bike riding? This is also garage sale time when some get rid of junk and others find treasures! Can this be the month with extra planting and weeding but a sense of well being knowing we have started to grow our summer meals?

We all have reasons good and bad to enjoy the month of June.

There can be happy and sad memories associated with any particular month of the year. I personally try, whenever possible, to focus more on the positives that are out there. If there are some old dry leaves to rake there is also the bloom of new flowers.

The sunshine playing havoc with our sleep but making us enjoy the longer days. I guess that is all part of life in general, those ups and downs are with us every day, right? I know the lawn needs cutting more often, but it is beautiful and fresh when it is newly mown.

My views on the subject are this, whatever our thoughts on the month of June are, let’s try to concentrate on the good parts and get outside more and find out just exactly what it has to offer. If it is raining, take an umbrella. Or, better yet feel free to dance in the rain. You might even get a look at a rainbow!

We all know there are no rainbows without a little rain.

Cya outside!
