Attendant Bill Matichuk (l) of Battery Doctors in Kelowna takes an old stereo component from local resident Craig Wilm during a hazardous waste round-up held Saturday, May 12, at the Sportsplex. People in about 80 vehicles lined up for the TNRD-sponsored event. Much of the waste brought in was electronic - especially old TVs. Other items included used oil, antifreeze, paint, pesticides, batteries and even a vial of mercury.
