CN laid some new planks at the Vavenby railway crossing this past week. Some residents have found the crossing an improvement.
Spectacular show
On the evening of July 30, there was a thunder and lightening storm. Many people stood on their decks or looked through their windows to watch the spectacular lightening show.
A few fires caused by lightening strikes did start up. One was on Montana Creek. Later the rain came down in bucketfulls, putting out the fires.
When the storm was over a plane flew over the sites to make sure the fires were completely out.
