Each year, electoral area directors of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District are given discretionary funds to provide assistance to community members and groups. Grants of varying amounts may be awarded to non-profit groups that are good standing, being examples of appropriately organized service organizations undertaking activities for the betterment of the community.
The potential grants are intended to fund specific projects or events that provide a broad benefit.
The following organizations were recipients of 2o21 funds: Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; Vavenby Recreation and Trail Society; Clearwater Secondary School; Birch Island Recreation Society; Blackpool Fireman’s Association; Wells Gray Outdoors Club; Royal Canadian Legion; Forestview Place; District of Clearwater; Raft River School PAC; Clearwater Food Bank; Clearwater Youth Soccer Association; Wells Gray Lively Arts Society; and BC Ag Expo.
If any society or organization would like to apply for assistance from the 2022 discretionary funds, please contact Sherri at the TNRD office in Clearwater at (250) 674-1559 or visit at 209 Dutch Lake Road.
