Community Spirit Calendars- better known as the Birthday Calendars are on sale now at the NT Aboriginal Centre and occasionally .... in front of Safety Mart.
For over 40 years these calendars have helped citizens ‘remember’ the birthdays and anniversaries of their friends and neighbours. This fund-raiser was started in the 1960’s by the Vavenby Lions Club, and later, the sale of them was continued by the Vavenby/Clearwater Lions Club.
Today the Clearwater Festival and Events Society host the sale of these valuable calendars. Sharing the proceeds with many community members by being able to co-host events and to help sustain the costs of the Annual Arts Health and Wellness Expo - that happens on the first Saturday in February each year.
We are still accepting photos for the picture on the front of the Calendar. Our theme is Family Fun in the North Thompson. Send your entries to cheyrl.thomas24@gmail.com. It is possible that your photo will be chosen and if so, you will be eligible to receive a cheque for $50. Send your entry to Cheryl.thomas24@gmail.com or drop off at the Aboriginal Centre before Sept 28th.
The front of the calendar features several businesses for your easy reference. On the appropriate days we list off the various meetings and times. This is an excellent value for the $12.00 that is costs to purchase a calendar.
