Wet basements for some

With the warmer temperatures spring came quickly and the snow seemed to disappear almost overnight from our  yards. Unfortunately some residents are now battling with flooded basements.

Two slides on back road

Birch Island Lost Creek Road or the “back road” was closed due to a water run-off that washed away some of the bank in two different places. They were not major slides but the road was closed for three days. Residents could not get through until Argo came out and cleaned up the mess. The company waited a while until it was sure that there would not be another slide.

Lambing at Aveley Ranch

With spring comes lambing at the Moilliet sheep ranch. That should start around April 1. There will be tours of the ranch this year from April 3 - 17 with guides at different stations. There is cuddling in the orphan pen, the lambing pen to see the ewes, the chicken house, the teahouse, and the hayride. On weekends there is a concession. School groups should book ahead. The cost for adults is $15 each and for children $10 each.
