On Mothers’ Day members of the Girl Guides of Canada entertained mothers, grandmothers, aunts and other special ladies at Evergreen Acres.  Sparks, Brownies, Guides, Pathfinders, Rangers Karlene Ritchie and Heather Graffunder of Vavenby, and Guiders provided and served delicious goodies.  Tea or coffee was poured from elegant silver pots into fragile cups.  These were then carefully balanced on matching saucers by polite young servers, dressed in their uniforms, colour-coded for each branch of Guiding, and delivered to seated women.  Our tables were covered by linen table clothes, and adorned with pretty serviettes and a vase of fresh spring flowers.  The girls and Guiders traded roles serving and being served so all enjoyed the experience from every angle.  Jean Nelson thanked everyone for coming and those of us on the receiving end thank her and her dedicated Guiders for providing the perfect occasion to celebrate Mothers’ Day in Clearwater.
