The Raft Mountain Skating Club (RMSC) presented their annual Year End Gala themed 'Animation' performing to a packed house at the North Thompson Sportsplex arena on March 6 with the doors opening at 5:00 p.m.
An air of excitement filled stands full of family and friends to support their local figure skaters with sales of flowers for performers by donation, popcorn, warming soup and drinks for those in the grandstands.
The skaters were costumed in their finest for the individual and group performances, each with its own uniquely chosen musical tract.
The bouquets were available for purchase, so that family and friends of the performers could gift them to the skaters. The performance showcased all the new skills the club members — who span a wide variety of ages and skill levels — have learned to date. With rounds of applause and cheers as an indication, the gala was another success as a tribute to skaters and their coaches.
