Clearwater residents and businesses took part in Orange Shirt Day on Sept. 30, donning orange t-shirts in honour of Phillis Webstad and that “every child matters.”

The team at the local RBC branch and both schools participated, and a community gathering was held at the Dutch Lake Community Centre.

Orange Shirt Day began in British Columbia in May, 2013, and is a day to honour Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada. It was started by Webstad to educate people about residential school and to fight racism and bullying.
