Throughout the summer, the North Thompson Arts Council will host an artist of the week at the Clearwater Farmer’s Market. On Aug. 14, Bev Henry will have her artwork on display during the market at the Dutch Lake Community Centre.

Henry was born in the Yukon and from a young age had a keen interest in nature and what surrounds us. After taking a photography course, her artistic side was awakened. She has a large collection of nature photographs, taken over years of backcountry hiking with their pack llamas.

She began painting with watercolours and acrylics much later in life, and now Henry is taking the collection of nature photographs and interpreting them through paints. She has a desire to share her discoveries with others. Henry has also branched into carving, making pendants from local stone and prehistoric mammoth ivory found in the Yukon.

The NTAC is a registered B.C. society that encourages and supports arts and culture projects and any creative pursuit. Membership is open to people of all ages.
