North Thompson non-profits receive COVID-19 relief funds

A number of non-profit organizations were the recipient of some COVID cash on Nov. 3.

Thompson-Nicola Regional District director for Area A, Carol Schaffer gave out a stack of cheques to various non-profits in the Clearwater area. The funds were part of $25,000 in COVID-19 Safe Restart money given to each director in the TNRD to distribute in their area.

Schaffer noted that she decided to give out funds to multiple groups because they all have suffered in some form throughout the pandemic, whether it be through a lack of fundraising opportunities or not being able to hold events.
