After 40 days of hard work and a lot of fun, an local igloo is almost ready to move into.

The Tsao family has been working away, building an igloo in their own backyard from the snow that has fallen in Clearwater over the season so far.

Armed with a spray bottle, Michelle Tsao started building the structure on Dec. 16 and, despite the issue of it melting in this season’s milder weather or gravity taking its toll, she, along with the help of her two boys, Liam and Lucas, and husband, Usoff, have managed to create a cute little ice space in their backyard.

While Clearwater hasn’t seen much snow this year, that didn’t deter Michelle, who, as Usoff said, “Had the patience to shovel snow from all over the yard to make the bricks,” in comment on a Facebook post to the Clearwater Info Board group. He added to another commenter he had mentioned there wasn’t enough snow for an igloo, but she just took it as a challenge — well, our hats are off to you, Michelle!

The igloo’s roof is almost complete and the space has been accented with a few lights, a welcome sign on the door and some throw pillows.
