Morning power outage scheduled for North Thompson this Sunday

BC Hydro are advising that a cancelled planned power outage for Mar. 28 for the North Thompson has now been rescheduled for Sunday, Apr. 11. The outage will include parts of Adams Lake, Barriere, Brennan Creek, Chinook Cove, Chu Chua, Clearwater, Darfield, Dixon Creek, Dunn Lake, Exlou, Heffley Creek, Kamloops, Lewis Creek, Little Fort, Louis Creek, McLure, Simpcw, Squam Bay, and Upper Louis Creek and will be taking place from 8 a.m. until 12 noon.

BC Hydro are advising that a cancelled planned power outage for Mar. 28 for the North Thompson has now been rescheduled for Sunday, Apr. 11. The outage will include parts of Adams Lake, Barriere, Brennan Creek, Chinook Cove, Chu Chua, Clearwater, Darfield, Dixon Creek, Dunn Lake, Exlou, Heffley Creek, Kamloops, Lewis Creek, Little Fort, Louis Creek, McLure, Simpcw, Squam Bay, and Upper Louis Creek and will be taking place from 8 a.m. until 12 noon.

Residents who will be impacted by the outage have been notified by BC Hydro through the mail and also by email, advising the reason for the outage is for equipment replacement.

The notification also states, “To ensure you and our work crews are kept safe while we work in your area, we need to switch off power during the times noted. We understand this is an inconvenience, and we’ll restore your power as soon as we can. Please be aware that the start and end times are estimated, and that this re-scheduled power outage may be cancelled without notice due to adverse weather conditions or availability of crews during an emergency.”

Residents in the planned outage area are advised to protect your electrical devices in case of damage damage by turning off items such lights, heaters, major appliances and unplugging all electrical equipment before and during the outage.
