May 4 was Star Wars Day at the Vavenby Elementary. The students had previously decided which character they wanted to be and made masks to suit. On the day the children came dressed to look the part. One student explained that Star Wars was being held that morning because Yoda always said, “May the fourth be with you.”
Last potluck until fall
Vavenby Christian Church’s last community potluck luncheon until the fall was held on Wednesday, Apr. 25.
Approximately 25 people were present and they brought lots of delicious food to eat. Colleen Rothwell made an excellent turkey rice soup.
Plan to come out in the autumn to join in the fun and companionship.
Lambing season now over
The self-guided tours at the Aveley sheep ranch are over as the sheep are now out in the fields. About 500 people came to see the sheep and cuddle the orphan lambs.
