Wells Gray Country Senior's Society held its executive meeting recently. The society's mandate is to be a medium for all senior citizens to be active and productive, and to encourage and foster involvement in activities for the betterment of themselves and their community.

The executive reviewed the activities that the society did well last year. These included conducting bus trips and sponsoring a book club, a writer's circle and the Third Sunday Social. The society supported The Walk for Memories, liaised with the Friendly Club and shared potluck lunches and picnics. Those were just a few examples.

The executive also looked at some of the aspects of the society that they felt could be improved and areas where it could expand and grow.

Membership is always an area the society is promoting. This community is filled with talented and vibrant seniors who have lots to give. If you are someone wanting to belong to a group of dynamic seniors (junior and senior) we encourage you to attend our regular meeting the first Wednesday of the month at the Community Resource Centre in Clearwater. If you want to come and check us out, join us for a no-host lunch at the Wells Gray Inn at 12:30 on the third Sunday of the month. If you have a talent to share or an interesting presentation you'd like to give, please let us know.

All are welcome to join us at our next meeting on Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. at the Community Resource Centre.
