TNRD Library System is partnering with Thompson Rivers University Library to help residents in the regional district celebrate Freedom to Read Week. The event will include an online survey and a panel discussion.

From Feb. 25 to March 3, Canada will celebrate Freedom to Read Week.

A way of celebrating and supporting authors and readers, Freedom to Read Week encourages Canadians to think about intellectual freedom, which includes the right to read, view, hear, express, and discuss any idea on any subject.

Readers are invited to share their thoughts on intellectual freedom, book banning and censorship by completing a survey that can be found at tnrdlib.ca. During Freedom to Read Week, the libraries will then host a panel of speakers on these topics, with the feedback steering the conversation.

Participants who choose to provide their contact information will be entered into a draw to win a prize. The survey will close Jan. 31.
