To the editor,
My friends won’t play with me so I’m getting new friends. This sounds like what a petulant five-year-old, not what a 75-year-old, ex-president might say. As Twitter, Facebook and a few of their friends have banned Donald Trump, he has started to set up his own social media platform where he will be able to express his own views.
It will be interesting to see how it works as the suggestions are that it won’t censor people, but will that include those that don’t agree with Trump, which is a significant part of America and certainly a lot of the rest of the world? Freedom of speech could mean anything, even only agreeable speech.
One potentially beneficial outcome is that this site will attract all of his supporters who will have removed themselves from other sites in protest now that they have a place where their voice will be heard.
This will be that other social media might be spared their views, although that is only a hope.
Bring on your site Mr. Trump and take your friends there, please.
