Thursday, Mar. 3 to Sunday, Mar. 6, could be called “drama weekend” in Clearwater.

Those are the dates when After Hours Theatre’s community and after school programs will be presenting their third annual productions, says director Krystle Moilliet.

The after school program for young people will be presenting an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. The students have changed it somewhat and added some scenes to focus on what happens to the secondary characters in the play, said Moilliet.

“I’m quite excited about what they’ve done with the story,” she said.

The adults in the community program will be putting on W.S. Gilbert’s The Palace of Truth.

That play tells the story of an enchanted palace in which everyone must tell the truth. A king and queen take their court there and many funny mishaps rise.

The after school program will lead off with a performance on Mar. 3 at 7 p.m., followed by one on Mar. 5 at 7 p.m. and then a matinee on Mar. 6 at 2 p.m.

The adult community company’s first performance will be on Mar. 4 at 7 p.m., with a matinee on Mar. 5 at 2 p.m. and then a final showing on Mar. 6 at 7 p.m.

All performances will be in the Pit at Clearwater Secondary School.

Advance adult tickets are $11 each while students get in for $9. A both-shows special costs $20 for an adult or $16 for a student.

After Hours Theatre is a partnership between CSS and the Community Resource Center of the North Thompson.

Tickets can be purchased at the Community Resource Center (next to Raft River Elementary School).
