First Nations students attend grad in Kamloops at House of Learning

First Nations 2011 Grad was held on Thursday, June 2, in the Aboriginal New House of Learning at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.

About 120 of the 160 First Nations grads in School District 73 were in attendance. The grads representing Clearwater Secondary School were Merry Augustine, Dominic Baker-Horne, Elijah Kennedy, Andrew Matusky, Jonnie McMahon, Karlene Ritchie and Dalton Snippa. Graduating from CSS but not at the ceremony were Cass Bowden, Jessica Coburn, Dad McNeilly, Travis Thompson and Jesse Wallin.

Andrew Matusky received $600 from the Duncan Marie MacRae award and Karlene Ritchie received $250 for the Wally Deneault Memorial Scholarship. Congratulation to all the grads. Everyone have a safe summer.
