First Nations Heritage to be featured at Rural Expo

Cindy Wilgosh, Aboriginal Success by Six co-ordinator, will attend the Celebration of Rural Living Expo and Trade Show

Jill Hayward – Barriere Star/Journal

Cindy Wilgosh, Aboriginal Success by Six co-ordinator, will be in attendance at the Celebration of Rural Living Expo and Trade Show at the fairgrounds in Barriere on April 27 and 28.

Wilgosh will man a Success By Six booth, and will also present ‘connection circle’ storytelling sessions on both days. She says the circle involves the use of a talking quilt, talking feather, sage/prayer bundles, rattles, paddles, and animals such as moose, bear, wolves, etc. Key to her First Nations traditions and heritage presentation is the ‘Grannie’ doll (shown with Cindy).

Both adults and kids will enjoy attending this informative and fun presentation during the Expo weekend in Barriere.
