Clearwater Elks wound up their weekly Saturday pancake breakfasts for the season on Oct. 1 but that doesn’t mean the club has stopped donating to the community, says spokesperson Phyllis Bucknell.

Organizations, individuals and causes that benefited from the money raised by the Elks’ breakfasts so far this year include Clearwater Bible Camp, Clearwater Secondary School grad, Variety Club, Clearwater Minor Hockey, Best Christmas Fund, Elks charities, Mary Stewart (in memory of Lorne Stewart), Food Bank, Clothing Store, Cadets, Clearwater Minor Ball and senior citizens to help in travel expenses.

Recently the Elks presented a $1,000 cheque to Linda Selbee for the Breast Friends cancer walk group. This is the third year in a row the Elks have supported the walk.

Spring projects for the Elks include getting the hall painted as well as improving and remodeling the kitchen.
