Eagle’s Nest children honour MMIWG with Women’s Warrior Song

The group gathered on Oct. 4 to remember the hundreds of women and girls who have gone missing or have been murdered since the 1980s

The staff and children of Yellowhead Community Service’s Eagle’s Nest childcare program gathered in front of the Buy-Low Parking lot to honour and remember the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. The group hung red dresses on the fence and sang the Women’s Warrior Song. The National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls is recognized on Oct. 4 to honour remember the more than 1,200 women and girls who have gone missing or been murdered since the 1980s.
