Crews extinguish fire near Vavenby

Crews from BC Wildfire pack up after extinguishing a forest fire that sparked Monday evening near Vavenby. A member of the Vavenby Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call, as well as a nearby team from Trans Mountain. Fire Chief Philip Weber said the trees were candling when crews arrived. Early investigations suggest the wildfire sparked when a tree fell onto a power line due to high winds. (Stephanie Hagenaars photo)
