CRC to hold open house Tuesday

The Community Resource Centre (CRC) will host its bi-annual open house on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The CRC is located at 224 Candle Creek Road (next to Raft River Elementary School).

Drop in at your convenience and learn about CRC programs and services.

Enjoy complimentary refreshments and snacks while mingling and enjoying our exceptional customer service. Meet and greet instructors and ask them questions regarding their upcoming courses. Check out what you can learn or create at their interesting displays.

New Course Calendar

The Community Resource Centre Winter 2012 course calendars are here. Check out the new offerings and returning favorite programs.

Thompson Rivers University in Clearwater is pleased to offer an Introduction to Psychology the History of Canada and as three-credit university courses. These courses can be taken on their own or can be combined with other TRU credit courses to acquire a university degree. Start your education today right in the comfort of our own community. Registration is accepted until Jan. 20, 2012, or late registration is by permission of the instructor.

The Microcomputer Certificate 1, which includes Microsoft Word, Excel, and Simply Accounting, is an excellent way to work your way towards a recognized computer certificate that will give you the skills required to gain a competitive advantage in today’s workplace.

TRU also offers Effective Meetings, Management Skills for Supervisors, and many other work-related courses.

The CRC’s work-related training and first aid courses can help. Register today and be on your way to getting hired. Two new convenient online work-related courses include Fall Protection Awareness and Confined Space Pre-Entry.

These days, many people are opting to take courses online. Taking courses over the Internet enables students to learn at the convenience of their own schedule.

The CRC offers a wide range of online courses through their ed2go program. For more information about online learning, please visit www.ed2go.com/crcnt.

The CRC also offers general interest courses, which are located in the second half of the course calendar.

Some of the many interesting new offerings include Tai Chi, Wood Carving, Home Repair, Ceramic Tile, Dog CPR, and Sewing for Adults. Sign up with a friend and have twice as much fun. Kids can join in the fun too with programs just for children.
