The "All Things Spring" swap and shop was held on Sunday, April 27, at the Fine Things Thrift Store in Vavenby. The weather was not really conducive for the event.
Erin Busse, her two children Cadence and Brayden, and her mother Margaret Blackwell were the only ones brave enough to set up. Erin said that the kids sold most of what was bought.
Wednesday lunches going to once a month
Now that the warm weather has finally arrived and people will be going away, the community coffee/lunch at Vavenby Christian Church will be held on just the last Wednesday of every month, starting on May 28.
Also soup will not be served. The lunches will be like a potluck. People can bring what they like, such as salads, desserts, sandwiches, crackers, cheese, etc. The weekly coffee/lunches will start again on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
The weekly lunches started as a community tradition during the search for Vern Boettger last fall.
