Vavenby residents are outraged. The community hall was broken into on Monday evening, Feb. 19, and a lot of damage occurred.

On the upper floor four locked cupboard doors were pulled off, three locks were broken downstairs, and the storage room lock was jimmied. Three fire extinguishers were stolen as well as a case of coke. It will cost about $150 to replace all three fire extinguishers.

The police came to see the damage on Feb. 20. They suggested putting in a surveillance camera as this is the third time the hall has been broken into. One resident thought that an alarm system is necessary. Many of the people who use the hall cannot understand what causes people to do such vandalism.

On a happier note the crib and darts clubs made a $200 donation to the Clearwater Hospice.
