The Clearwater and District Hospice Society put a hold on its services early last year due to COVID-19 and the hospice room at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital was being used to treat patients. The CDHS will be bringing back their volunteer services starting Friday, July 2. Those who would like to inquire about becoming a volunteer or have questions about the CDHS can call the administrator phone line at 778-208-0137. Their office, located off the Old North Thompson Highway behind Mystic Dreams, is open from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., every Friday (starting July 2) or by appointment. Volunteering for the CDHS is more than just providing hospice services. There are opportunities for fundraising or providing assistance in the office, among many others. Those who do wish to volunteer their time to hospice services will receive full hospice client care training. From l-r: Julie Mayo, administrator, Andrea Lenny, director, Bobbi Parsons, director, Julie Patterson, director, Joan Mumford, president, and Joyce Wysoski, vice president. Missing: Janice Wyatt, volunteer coordinator. (Stephanie Hagenaars / Clearwater Times)
