Celebrating youth environmental action

Earth Day Canada, with support from the Toyota Canada Foundation, is acknowledging the work of students and rewarding their efforts

From starting school recycling programs to engaging in groundbreaking scientific research, high school students are demonstrating their leadership across Canada by responding to environmental issues at local, national and global levels.

Earth Day Canada, with financial support from the Toyota Canada Foundation, is acknowledging the valuable work of these students and is rewarding their efforts. The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program rewards 20 graduating high school and Cégep students entering their first year of post-secondary education with $5,000 scholarships for their environmental community service, extracurricular and volunteer activities, and academic excellence. One exceptional student, chosen from the regional winners, will also be presented with the Toyota Earth Day Scholarship National Award and a Panasonic notebook computer at a National Award Ceremony. To date, $800,000 has been awarded to 160 outstanding young Canadians.

For more information, please visit earthday.ca/scholarship. The deadline to apply is Feb. 15.
