Do you think you can win a staring contest against an elephant?

What about a gorilla, a cheetah, a fox, or an alligator?

What about all of them, with a bunch of their other animal friends, and all at the same time?

You’re about to find out – but whatever you do “don’t blink”!

Barriere’s favourite librarian, Pam Rudd, is encouraging all ages of readers to check out the newly installed story title in the Fadear Park StoryWalk® starting next to the library.

“Both individuals and families will have a fun time testing their staring skills against a vibrant assortment of characters presented in this interactive picture book from talented author Tom Booth and currently being featured in the StoryWalk®,” said Rudd.

She also reminds those planning on doing the StoryWalk® to stop into the Barriere Library first “for your Craft to Go kit - complete with supplies for two crafts themed with the story”.

Just remember when you are doing the StoryWalk®, whatever you do “don’t blink”!

What is a StoryWalk® ?

A StoryWalk® is an innovative and exciting way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Pages of a story book are installed outdoors and include questions and interactions to enjoy. Follow the pages of the book and enjoy walking and talking with your children as you read the story together. A StoryWalk® encourages literacy, connection and play. You’ll find the Barriere StoryWalk® in Fadear Park next to the Barriere Library at 4511 Barriere Town Road. Titles are rotated out approximately every two months..
