Blue River makes room for RV‘ers

TNRD directors have amended Blue River’s official community plan in a move that will allow recreational vehicles in a manufactured home park

Thompson-Nicola Regional District board of directors has amended Blue River’s official community plan in a move that will allow recreational vehicles to occupy spaces in a manufactured home park in the community.

During a Feb. 24 board meeting the directors adopted Blue River OCP Amendment Bylaw No. 231, which will amend a section of the Blue River OCP to allow temporary use permits (TUP) to be issued within manufactured home parks in the plan area. The board also authorized distribution of Notice of Intent to issue a TUP for a three-year term that will permit 14 manufactured spaces to be occupied by recreational vehicles at the Snowfield Village Manufactured Home Park in Blue River.

According to information provided by staff during the meeting, Snowfield Village

Manufactured Home Park was developed in 1999 to accommodate 16 manufactured homes. However, at present there are only two manufactured homes on the site.

The property owner applied for the TUP in order to accommodate construction crews working on new hydro projects in the Blue River area.
