The Blackpool Volunteer Fire Department answered a call for help from the Vavenby & District Royal Canadian Legion to remove the heavy snow from their rooftop.

A post to Facebook from the VFD notes the legion reached out Wednesday afternoon and by later that day, members had a plan in place and were happy to ablige, climbed to the rooftop Thursday (Jan. 13) morning.

The snow was heavy, but the crew got the job done, creating a snow pile on the ground measuring about five feet tall. The mixed weather of snow, rain and mild temperatures have put a strain on roofs over the last couple weeks.

“Thank you to our firefighters who volunteered to help out today,” the post reads. “And thank you to Tim Hortons Clearwater for the coffee to help warm these guys up!”
