To the Editor,
The serving of delicious made-to-order Brekkie Burgers and hot dogs continues at the Elks Hall. Perhaps this new tradition will be able to move inside as the temperature drops. The event has always seen much chatter and laughter, but Saturday, October 4th topped the lot. Read on.
“What would you like to drink, John?” server Diana asked my husband.
“Nothing, thanks,” he responded. “Here you are!” she said, passing him an empty mug – much to the amusement of all who were in hearing distance.
“Need a refill?” she called out to him a little while later.
As we were about to leave, Elks President Marnie (T-shirt reading “Big Boss”) couldn’t resist having the last word.
“We’ll try to have a different flavour for you next week, John!”
