‘An afternoon with Cheryl Cran’ best selling author - hosted by Community Futures

Best-selling author and economic visionary Cheryl Cran is coming to Kamloops for a public appearance.

An Afternoon With Cheryl Cran is happening thanks to a partnership between The Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce and Community Futures Thompson Country (CFTC). The two organizations are jointly hosting this guest speaker event on Mar. 21 from noon until 3 p.m. in the Cordillera Room at the Sandman Signature Kamloops Hotel.

Cran will be presenting her keynote topic The Future Is Human about “how being a better human is key to the future of work,” said Jennifer Brown-Binns, a spokesperson for CFTC, adding this message “is set to inspire and motivate” the area’s business communities.

The two host agencies felt these would be helpful insights in today’s economic climate of business collaborations, hybrid workplaces, challenging labour pools, and tight budgets.

“Cran is considered a visionary in her field, and Community Futures is thrilled to bring her to Kamloops to inspire our local business community,” said Brown-Binns. “This event is a unique opportunity for small business owners, team leaders, and business professionals to gain insights that can inspire and drive economic growth in our region.”

Cran’s keynote presentation will include social trends, re-framing challenges and setbacks into opportunities, “the 4 C’s of being a super crucial human,” and additional suggestions on progressive actions, models and strategic ideas “that have the potential to contribute to overall success in life and business.”

Brown-Binns said the two host agencies hope the afternoon discussion will provide “practical strategies…to empower small business owners and professionals to adapt and embrace change, helping them thrive in rural communities.”
