World Day of Prayer for 2018 was held in Clearwater on March 2 at the New Life Assembly.

Over 20 people gathered to hear the words written by the women of Suriname, a small country on the northeast corner of South America.

Theme for this year was All God’s Creation is Very Good.

While learning of the environmental challenges facing Suriname, those in attendance were urged to consider actions they could take to nurture and preserve local creation.

With readings, prayers and music, the hour-long gathering was both informative and contemplative.

The offering collected will be used by the World Day of Prayer International Committee to fund projects that benefit women touched by injustice in Canada and around the world.

Next year’s service will be written by the Women of Slovenia and will be held on the first Friday of March.
